Task Server
The Task Server allows some actions that would normally have been processed on the client's pc to be processed on a server thus improving the end user’s PC performance. It also allows tasks to be scheduled to occur at regular intervals or when required, without user intervention.
Module Features
- Task Manager
- The Task Manager application creates and manages task server definitions. A task server definition defines one or more tasks that must be handled by the task server. Multiple task server definitions can be created for a database, with each definition handling a different set of tasks.
- Task Server
- The Task Server is the application that processes the tasks. It polls the InfoFlex database with a preset frequency looking for new entries in the task queue and then carries out the tasks found.
- Task Monitor
- The Task Monitor application allows users to check the current status of the task server and pause and restart it if required.
- Types of task
- Scheduled, "Run Once" and Ad hoc tasks can be handled by the Task Server.
