InfoFlex Modules

Data Analysis

The Data Analysis module provides the user with a spreadsheet environment for ad-hoc analysis of data. As in Data Entry, a user only has access to the Data Views to which access rights have been granted. The user selects the Data View to be analysed and all items in the Data View are available for analysis. Users use the Query Design Manager to define views and filters which determine what data is retrieved for analysis and how it is presented.

Module Features

Default view and filters
Default views and filters are available to allow data to be retrieved without defining specific queries.
Spreadsheet Functionality
Data retrieved in the data analysis grid can be sorted, filtered and new columns derived. Coded item columns can display code, meaning or both for analysis.
Pivot Tables
Pivot tables based on two or more variables can be defined.
Summarising Data
Data can be summarised to show counts of all code occurrences as well as maximums, minimums, means, totals and standard deviations of value items.
Data Grouping
Data can be grouped by columns providing a drill-down facility.
Applying Filters and Views
Views and filters can be defined and linked into queries that are then used to retrieve subsets of data. The views and filters can be pre-defined or designed as and when required.
Data Exporting
All data retrieved can be exported to Excel or in a configurable flat file format (including csv and tab delimited formats)
Charting
Values and codes can be charted using the Charting module. Charting modes include histograms, pie charts, line graphs and scatter plots.
Data Extracts
Pre-defined queries and file extract formats can be saved as routines to be run on request. This allows National extracts requirements to be met such as the Open Exeter data submissions.
